Things to know about your 'Support At Home'

 

The Government is making big changes to Home Care Packages by introducing the new Support at Home program. While there has been a lot of uncertainty across the industry, you can rest assured that Aunty Grace is ensuring you continue to receive the high-quality care and support you deserve.

 

Here’s a quick look at what some of these changes might mean for you...

Support At Home Changes:

 

More Package Levels for Better Support - Those familiar with the existing Home Care program will be aware of the four Home Care Package levels, with the new Support at Home Program, there will now be eight. For existing Home Care Package clients, they will retain their current package level (1 to 4) until they request a package upgrade (Aunty Grace can assist) and are reassessed and approved by My Aged Care.

 

Care Management - Care Management Fees are capped at 10%. While the Government is limiting how much providers can charge for care management, at Aunty Grace, we’re committed to always focusing on delivering real value. Our streamlined systems mean we will continue providing excellent care, support, service coordination, and top-notch customer service.

 

Package Management Fees Are Gone - To make pricing clearer, these fees have been removed. Instead, service prices will reflect all business costs. We’ll ensure you fully understand what this means, and most importantly, that your level of care remains the same. Our fees and service costs are transparent and you can always view your charges via the Aunty Grace online client portal any time, day or night.

 

Quarterly Budgets - Instead of receiving yearly funding accumulating monthly, the Government is introducing quarterly budgets. The funds will now be allocated every three months. Clients can keep some unspent funds, but there will be a cap. Aunty Grace is upgrading their statements to reflect these changes and make it very easy to track spending and ensure you are getting the most from your Care. The good news for existing clients? They will keep their existing Home Care Package funds as a top-up, only to be spent once their quarterly budget has been exhausted.

 

New Funding for Equipment and Home Modifications - A separate budget (to the quarterly amount mentioned above) will now cover assistive technology and home modifications, rather than funds coming from your overall package. This funding is capped, but current clients with unspent funds will not be affected. Aunty Grace will work with you to ensure you get the most from the funding allocated to your package for these types of services and products.

 

Additional Funding for Specialised Care - Extra funding pools will be available for Restorative Care and End-of-Life Care, ensuring more support when it’s needed most.
